-  Teaching Experience: For 37 years I have been teaching courses on plant morphology, plant anatomy, plant taxonomy, plant ecology, the archegoniates, palynology, and flora at the under- and post-graduate levels in the faculties of science, education and agriculture

-  Professor of Plant Taxonomy, Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia, Aug. 1983- Sept. 1992; Head of Chemistry and Botany Department from 1986 to 1992.
-  Part-time Scientific Consultant to the National Biodiversity Unit (NBU), Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA); July 1994-Dec.1997.
-  Professor of Botany and Vice-Dean for Students’ Affairs, Faculty of Education at El-Arish, Suez Canal University; August 1994-July 1997.

Between July 1993 and December 1997: participation in the establishment of the biodiversity data base of Egypt as part of a biodiversity data management project at the NBU. It incorporates all avialable data on the taxonomy, local and global distribution, ecology, economic value and pertinent literature dealing with all plants, animals and micro-organisms recorded in Egypt. It is designed to accommodate future items of information as well and all data is easily retrievable. The data base is the nucleus of a network connecting all major referral collections (herbaria, zoos, entomological collections, botanical gardens, etc.) in Egypt and will soon be made globally accessible on the INTERNET.
