In Aamiq hunters go on a birdwatching trip
Friday 5 December 2003, by Web Team
In collaboration with the Youth Club in Aamiq and A Rocha the MedWetCoast project organized a birdwatching/awareness trip for bird hunters in the Aamiq village. 15 hunters joined the trip and the time was used to sensitize the hunters to the importance of conserving bird species and to initiate a dialog with them. Bird hunting is a major threat to the avifauna of the Aamiq wetland and a constant dialog with the hunters will reduce their negative impact on the wetland.
