Strategy for Monitoring and Reporting
For the National and Regional Components of the Project
March 2001, by Web Team

This paper is a working document prepared exclusively for the MedWetCoast project of UNDP/GEF, at the request of the Regional Facilitation Unit for the project. As such, it is not intended for distribution outside of the context of this project.

Most of the monitoring and reporting techniques and tools described in this document are required procedures for implementing UNDP-GEF funded projects. As such, they are documented extensively in other UNDP and GEF literature. The reiteration of the guidelines for using these techniques and tools is not intended as an infringement of copyright. Rather, it is an attempt to provide MedWetCoast programme and project personnel with an easy-to-use and all-inclusive reference manual for carrying out monitoring and reporting activities for the MedWetCoast project.

An extensive list of reference documents is provided at the end of this document. However, special acknowledgement is due to the authors of the UNDP-GEF Information Kit on Monitoring and Evaluation, the UNDP Programming Manual, and Introduction to the Logical Framework Approach, all of which have been used extensively in the preparation of this document
